hello lovely people!

i've just posted my new track, "in somnia" on my virb site, and would love to know what you guys think of it. it's in the dub-step vein, with a bit of dark hip hop flavour. my good friend ill-esha from van-city produced the beat. dr. cello, also outta van-city, plays the haunting cello in the background. i rap and sing.

check it!

OK, so check it out. Next time your at an indoor event with Big Sound (I did this in the happy hardcore room at a local rave), try the following:

Sit down by a wall as close as possible to a subwoofer stack.
Rest the your head against the wall, and then arch your back so the weight of your body is pushing the back of your head into the wall
Feel the vibrations go right into your BRAIN!!!

Hi to you all,
>
> My name is Pierce Sharelove and I am posting
> this here today to ask for your prayers. I am
> facing complete financial ruin and the prospect
> of not having access to my two beautiful
> children. They have always been the Priority in
> my life and I want to be able to continue to
> offer them the emotional and spirirtual guidance
> that only their father can give them.
>
> I know that by asking for help, I am doing the
> right thing. Please consider this genuine
> request from my heart to yours in asking for
> your prayers and visualizations, or whatever
> method you use to connect with intention - to
> see me happily, joyfully and respectfully
> continuing to fulfill my lifelong passion being
> the best father I can be. I am only asking for
> your thoughts that will send energy and
> solutions my way so I can further provide and
> create a nurturing, supportive and loving
> environment for my children.
>
> Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for your
> sincere efforts, as I know many of you out there
> believe as I do, in the power of intention.
>
> My humblest prayers of gratitude and love to you
> all that devote even just one minute of your day
> in support of my children and I, in carrying out
> this request.
>
> In love and the sincerest appreciation,
> Pierce Sharelove

Anyone heard much of the Grime sound yet? Going to check some out tonite..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/So_Solid_Crew

So Solid Crew are a UK garage and grime act whose hits include "Oh No" and "21 Seconds", the latter of which reached number one in the official UK Singles Chart in August 2001. Another hit, "They Don't Know", reached number three in November 2001 and "Haterz" got to number eight in January 2002. "Ride Wid Us" was less successful (UK number 19 in April 2002). They have also released a single, "Broken Silence" which spoke out about government prejudice which they had faced.

So Solid Crew set the trend on the underground scene and even today their success has been unmatched by any other garage crews or collectives. The So Solid Crew's first album They Don't Know was released in October 2001, followed by a remix album entitled ---- It in December 2001.

So Solid Crew are famous also for having many members. Megaman, Lisa Maffia, Kaish, Asher D, Romeo, Harvey, G Man, Face, Mac, Swiss, T Dub, Pds, Skat D, Morgan, Oxide, AC Burrell, Neutrino, Mr Shabz, Kowdean, The Twins, Sniper, Tiger S, Synth, Dan Da Man and Crazy. Lisa Maffia, Romeo and Harvey have all brought out solo chart singles since.

Oxide & Neutrino are also members who brought out singles but they released them before So Solid Crew. They released an album entitled Execute and the singles "Only Wanna Know U Cos Ure Famous / Dem Girlz", "Up Middle Finger" and "Bound 4 Da Reload" (which features music from the Casualty television show).

Members Harvey, Romeo and Lisa Maffia have all appeared on Channel Four celebrity reality show The Games and members Megaman, G Man, Harvey, Romeo and Lisa Maffia have all appeared on BBC's musical gameshow Never Mind The Buzzcocks. Harvey has now become a footballer at non-league football club Lewes F.C., following a brief stint at AFC Wimbledon.

Members Megaman and Romeo are both facing criminal charges of murder and grevious bodily harm. An associate of the band, Carl Morgan, was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in October 2005. [1]
Bass!
Still making the 15's happy, the amplifier hot, the beat-a-knockin.
Does it matter?
Wat u listen too is up to u... as long as there is bass in my music.
Who cares?
I only have until 10 pm to disturb the peace with car-alarm setting off, shaking your house windows, the feel of a small tremor cumming near you!...
its just me :-)

what are you looking forward to this year?

my pix:

lorin (duh.) - sat. mainstage

stanton warriors, who have yet to totally impress me with production, but are apparently sick dj's - sat. mainstage, after lorin, or before lorin or sometime.

sijay, womper breakbeat dude from elphinstone, with me and some other freaks on the microphones - sun. midnight, beach stage (the living room)

actually, i think the beach stage will be thumpin' the whole festival, and it's a good thing it's my ultimate fave place to hang out.

Bass notes and chakras...

hey bassheads!!

Unky B here with your BASS TIP o' the WEEK!

Wanna access your chakras thru the magic of bass vibrations? I thought so!! Check this out:

Low C (deep red) on a 5 string bass will rock your root. (the home of survival for all of us and sex for guys)

A step up, Low D (orange) corresponds to your sacral chakra (very sensual for some girls out there - sacral is your sensual and sexy home)

Low E (yellow - and the lowest note on a 4 string bass) will rock your solar plexus chakra - home of fire, passion and willpower.

F - the heart. Deep emerald forest green. Nuff said. It's actually the F Lydian scale (4th mode of C maj) which is a major scale with a #4. Try it, music nerds! Straight to the heart.

G - one of the most common keys in western music, corresponds to the throat chakra (sky blue) Sing out in G!!

A - 3rd eye (indigo). A minor is a very heady and spacy chord. Check it out.

And finally - B is the note of the crown chakra (violet). This is a strange place - the chord is actually a B 1/2 diminished chord which sounds quite strange indeed.

The cool thing is - now that we're back on C again, doesn't that sorta mean that C is both the root chakra note and the God note?

I hope at least one of you can sort of understand this stuff :P

love
~bassie

Jamaican Riddims

You know what's so cool about Jamaican music? Instead of naming tunes or jigs (like say in bluegrass or celtic tradition,) in Jamaica they name the basslines and then make many different songs and dubs out of each bassline!! So cool. And of course, they actually call the basslines 'riddims'.

I've tried to learn as many of these as I can... my favorites are called the "Stalag" riddim, the "Punaany" riddim, the "Real Rock" riddim and the "Joyride" riddim.

This website lists them all with sound samples!! www.jamrid.com

Make these bass grooves BiG and PHaT and RoUND - toss in a phat beat, some funky guitar and psychedelic piano and *BAM* - you've got magic.

Boy o' boy I love African music.

2. dave tipper - anything, my personal fave is "hybrid", which is a must listen if you've got a good system.

3. dan f. - esp. "close your eyes" and "she snaps", which makes me snap each and every time. mmmm.

I am home!

I am not a lonely Bassophile any longer.

I was starting to doubt my love of low frequency, my passion for pumping subs. I was starting to feel dirty and alone as I lay awake with the x-bass turned to the max and speakers under my bed. I have been shown that I am not one, but a part of something larger... a movement moved by oscilating frequencies below 100hz. The universe has heard my calling, and now I am home.

Thank you.

Hey I noticed the word "wompy" bass in the tribe intro

I'd like to turn that p upside down because I think our desires for the bass, our attraction to it relates to our first sounds in life.....the heartbeat of the mother in the womB. Do you remember? I don't think any sound system has matched that yet but we're gettin close!

boomboooooooooom

Hi. I am Neith and I am new no this tribe.

At most gigs you will find me with my head in the subwoofer if it is big enough but DEFINITELY groovin in front of the speakers! So far my hearing had been fine. Spirit has gifted me with strong cones I guess.

I also play the bass and have been working with various DJs using live bass spontaneously layed over their tracks. If you dj and are interested in C0-inSPirating send me a line........

inlight,
